It's Getting Dry and Dusty

Monsoon is just about over. There is an occasional sprinkle and perhaps some evening thunder, but it's been some days since we've had measurable rain.

At the height of monsoon, the large cement pipes on the right (about 3 feet in diameter) were almost entirely submerged in water and this field was a small lake. The size of the lake changed daily with the rainfall. Now even the mud has nearly dried up.

And the dust has returned.

I don't know for sure, but this is probably only a couple of day's worth of dust.
(And as for the bus in the background, it's employee transporation for Bayer, who has a large plant here.)

Monsoon or not, our fans pick up dirt at an amazing rate. Lon took this floor fan apart to clean it. Fans need to be cleaned at least once every two weeks. (Kinda worries me about our lungs.)
