Tanzania 13 - Serengeti National Park - Cheetahs

22 December 2014

We spent an hour watching cheetahs stalk a reedbuck -- unsuccessfully. It was a thrilling close encounter with a big cat.

Again, a line of vehicles means there must be something worth watching. At the peak, there were about 30 vehicles jockeying for position.
On the prowl.
Note the raised hackles.
Termite mounds have many uses. Here it gives the cheetah a better vantage point to find prey.
This hunt was unsuccessful. Time to take a breather.
And just how close were the cheetahs? Quite close!
