Delhi - Humayun's Tomb

Sunday, 21 September 2014

Before leaving for our early afternoon flight to Kochi, we visited two Delhi archeological and architectural landmarks: Humayun's Tomb and the Qutb Minar.

Humayun's Tomb is the first grand Mughal garden tomb, and set the pattern for others, among them the Taj Mahal.

Line-of-sight is very important in Mughal architecture. Here the final gate lines up with the entrance to the tomb.
