Kochi Reprise

Tuesday, 23 September 2014

Sights from our last evening in Kochi.

Trucks in Kerala are intricately painted. Additonally, they frequently have odd-sounding names such as "Infant Jesus" or "Sacred Mary".
A closer look.
While trucks in northern India are brightly painted,  they tend not to have the detail seen in Kerala.
The back of the cab usually has one complete painting. Trucks are truly works of art!
Looking out to the Arabian Sea at sunset.
To the north, in back of the container port, we could see blinking lights. To our surprise, a telephoto lens reveals that it is not a carnival, but a church.
This is just a 3-second clip of the Las Vegas-like lights displayed on the church.
