Trying to organize the sights of Iceland is a challenge, so this is the post for all those that were too short for their own post.
Fjaðrárglijúfur

| Fjaðrárglijúfur is a beautiful canyon just off the Ring Road near Kirkjubæjarklaustur. The canyon is short, but deep. We walked the eastern rim. |

Heydalur

| Heydalur is a valley at the base of Mjóifjörður in the West Fjords. The Heydalur farm has been converted into a guesthouse with restaurant and activities (swimming pool, "hot pots", horses, campground). We took a short hike up the stream that runs up the valley. |

Dynjandisheiði
2 September
Most of the time the roads hug the coast around the fjords, but occasionally, you can take a road across the heaths that separate the fjords.
