By the end of our trip through the Serengeti, I'd taken pictures of over 70 species of birds. That doesn't count additional species we saw, but didn't photograph. Here are some of the best photos and/or most interesting birds.
The Marabou stork continues to be a striking (if ugly) bird.
The other notable species here were the weaver birds.
Secretary birds were also fairly common.

Some of the Marabou storks have a large, pendulous, pink throat pouch, adding to their grotesque appearance. |
Given their size, it's amazing to see these storks perched in the tops of trees. |

Northern masked weaver and nest in acacia tree. |
Northern masked weaver working on nest. |
The birds look like northern masked weavers, but the nests are all wrong. ID anyone? |
Same problem here. |
Secretary birds were also fairly common.
Secretary birds seemed to fear no animal as they stalked the plain looking for food. |

Red-billed oxpeckers atop a hippo. We also saw the very similar yellow-billed oxpeckers. |
