Our afternoon excursion was to the archaeological site of Pella.

Pella was the capital of Macedonia in the Hellenistic Period. As such, it has ruins of several large and lavish private residences, and a large agora.
The archaeological museum preserves the magnificent floor mosaics from the residences.
Another mosaic.
A partial mosaic.
Detail from a vase in the museum.
