Our last stop of the day was a home visit to a "typical middle class" home. The owners are tailors and also sell rugs and home furnishings.

While most new housing in China is large apartment blocks (even in Lhasa), this new construction retained the narrow streets of more traditional housing. |

The reception room was huge. We were told that the entire house is 2500 sq ft. That doesn't strike me as an "average" middle class home in China. |
