Cusco - San Pedro Market

Thursday, 23 August 2018

It's not in my guide books, but the main market in Cusco must be quite a sight. The market is open-air, but covered, and has aisles for everything you might need. In addition to the photos below, there was a food court and an aisle devoted to chocolate. And much more.

As you might expect in Peru, the produce aisle has a lot of potatoes.
A flower section is also fairly common in large markets.
Lon found the "Menudencias" aisle the most fascinating. An online dictionary translated this as "offal" or "giblets". I loved the translation on the sign, "innards".
From the photo it looks like the aisle is mostly meats and animal products.
But there were some fairly grisly items as well.
