Galapagos Day 1
Today we flew from Guayaquil, Ecuador, to San Cristobal Island in the Galapagos. Entering the Galapagos is like crossing an international border. You need an entry card and pay admission to the national park. You go through immigration and customs (looking for items that might danger the wildlife and ecology of the area).

Puerto Baquerizo Moreno is a small town near the airport and Wreck Bay, where we boarded our ship. |

Wreck Bay. Our ship is the large ship on the horizon just to the right of center. |

A closer look at the National Geographic Endeavour II, our home for the next week. |

Boarding the Endeavour from Zodiacs. (Amazingly enough, I did not have to straighten the horizon on this photo, even though it was taken from a rocking Zodiac. Usually I don't get this lucky even when I try to get a straight horizon!) |
