Sacsayhuaman is a former Inca fortress that was overtaken by the Spanish in 1536, and subsequently looted for useable stones to make other structures in Cusco. It is still an impressive site.

One of the terraced hills in Sacsayhuaman. |
Sacsayhuaman. |
In the foreground is part of the zig-zag ramparts that protected the fortress. |
The fortress originally had three towers, but only the foundations remain today. |
There is a commanding view of Cusco from the top. |
Is it just coincidence? Or do these rocks outline a llama? |
