China - Tibet

Thursday, 25 April 2019

We flew from Xi'an to Lhasa today, and then rested for the afternoon in an attempt to acclimate to the high altitude (over 12,000 ft).

Snow-capped mountains on the northeastern side of the Tibetan Plateau.
As we approached Lhasa, high peaks of the Himalayas were visible in the distance.
The mountains around Lhasa are a dusty brown. Only the valleys have any green.
Crossing a major river (Yarlung Tsangpo?) between Lhasa and the airport.
Between the airport and Lhasa.
A snowy peak peeks out from behind nearer mountains.
