England - Interesting & Perplexing Signs

It all started with a sign in Greenwich:

The humped we could get -- speed bump. But what is a "Pelican Crossing"? Google helped with the answer. Originally, it was "Pedecon" crossing -- for "pedestrian controlled" crossing -- a crossing where the stoplight is triggered when a pedestrian presses a button to indicate they want to cross the street. "Pedican" quickly evolved into the more whimsical "Pelican".
"Weak bridge" so much more evocative than out "Weight limit".
So much more useful information than just "Dead End" or "No Outlet".
Self-explanatory. Keep your feet where they belong!
Every church has its own rules! (Well-behaved dogs are almost certainly okay.)
